Choose by counting who needs a phone, which desks need handsets, and the all-in contract cost.
Decide which people need a desk handset before you open a vendor list.
Compare plans on your headcount and contract cost, not on a feature grid.
Each range below is the published premium price, widened by that vendor's confidence band. State tax is not included, because it depends on where you are. Prices as published by each provider. Data as of 2026-10-04.
A TechEstimate is a range. A written proposal is the number you can hold a provider to.
These phone systems are alphabetical. This is not a quality ranking.
TechlyScore ranks them for your setup when you compare in real time.

Count the people who need a phone, decide whether any of them need a desk handset, and check what your current contract costs all in. Then compare on those numbers rather than on feature lists.
What is the all-in monthly total including fees and taxes. What is the term and the early termination charge. What is included at this tier versus the next one. Who answers the phone when something breaks.
Modern systems count users rather than lines, so you need a seat for each person who answers calls. Shared phones in a lobby or warehouse are counted separately and cost much less.
Apps cover most people. Desk phones earn their place at reception, in a warehouse, or for anyone on calls all day. You do not have to choose one for the whole office.
Month to month costs more per seat but leaves you free. A one or three year term lowers the rate and locks the price. Take the term only if you are confident about your headcount.
